Recently did a bunch of robot and monster concepts inspired by Pacific Rim. If you can't tell I'm pretty excited about the movie. This would be the heavy-armored, heavily armed unit. MORE to come soon!
Dude, it's really too bad you weren't on the design team, it would have solved one of my major complaints about the film...namely the rather bland robot designs. This, on the other hand, is monolithically masterful!
Ifrit is much more heavily armoured than its fellow Panzers, and also features much more advanced and heavy weaponry. On its right arm is a heavy ion collider cannon, housing a miniature particle accelerator, smashing atoms together to generate unimaginable amounts of power and heat, channelling it down a magnetic chamber and firing off the superheated superfluid like a gigantic shotgun. Ifrit's cannon is also constantly primed and charging, allowing it to be used at a moments notice, and when not in active duty, vents excess energy to power the facility that houses it. Ifrit's shoulder mounted missile platforms also have extremely advanced targeting computers, analysing an enemy's weak spots and targeting them for maximum effect. Ifrit's left arm cannon is a more traditional projectile weapon, similar to Baldur's revolver chambers, but fires large slugs at extreme velocities, making this Panzer one of the deadliest. When Ifrit runs dry in prolonged combat, his large cannon arm closes up and the barrel retracts, and he uses both fists to DEADLY effect.
I don't even think that would get close. It has a giant laser on one of it's hands, and more missiles than Striker Eureka. But we don't have anything to base it off of, but I would guess a hypothetical category VI Kaiju.
