Panzer Project-Quetzalcoatl (Pacific Rim Inspired) by emersontung Panzer Project-Quetzalcoatl (Pacific Rim Inspired) by emersontung

Recently did a bunch of robot and monster concepts inspired by Pacific Rim. If you can't tell I'm pretty excited about the movie.

Here is the experimental Battleship Class panzer, created to deal with monsters with flight capabilities. Free internets for those who can guess the inspiration for the color scheme/concept.

----

Panzer Project Designation "Quezalcoatl"
Mark 5 Panzer
Height: 325'
Weight: 2,145 tons
Quetzalcoatl is the newest and largest Panzer unit deployed in the field, designed for maximum carnage with an absurdly large blade that projects a shaped field of plasma at the edge.
Quetzalcoatl als features relatively lightweight armor and extremely precision machined components to allow it to "transform" into a large flying platform, featuring a prominent nose-cone.
The flight mode allows Quetzalcoatl to act as a rapid-response unit, capable of circumnavigating the globe in just six hours, and featuring variable pitch thrusters to allow it high manoeuvrability to deal with like-sized flying enemies.
Quetzalcoatl also features several triple barreled deck guns to use as distraction methods against larger enemies, or to shoot down its targets midair.

okay i've been puzzling at this for five minutes. how does the nosecone/sword blade get to the front if the rest of the arm swings back to the wings in the rear? does it detatch for manual positioning with the right arm or something?

The inspiration is without a doubt Gundam Wing, the blue, white, red an yellow all reflect that, PLUS the alt form is like Wing's 'bird mode.'

So beast. Hell the thing doesn't even need to transform to fight, it could just fly through its enemies with that blade and shred them to pieces lol
